JPAG at UKPharmSci 2026
The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted their 17th annual international conference in Newcastle in early September 2026. The conference provided a platform for deep discussion of the development and delivery of next generation medicines. The conference covered the vital role of pharmaceutical science and drug delivery innovation, alongside major recent developments in formulation, data science, AI, and sustainability, in shaping medicines of the future. JPAG had an extremely interesting and informative session with three speakers:
“High-throughput Topical Formulation Development using FTIR-Microscopy” Dr Thomas Hibbard, Maplethorpe Research Fellow, King’s College, London, UK
“Self-assembly processes in pharmaceutical formulations – Parameters affecting lipid- and oligonucleotide-based formulation properties Dr Mischa Zelzer, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham, UK
“An Integrated Chiral Screening Approach: Optimising Workflows Across Three Modes (RP-HPLC, SFC and NP-HPLC)” Miss Lucy Smith, Pharmaron, UK
All three talks provoked discussion from the audience and were well received. JPAG are looking forward to being involved with the next APS annual conference which will be held in Glasgow, 2027.
